Fennel has a sweet aniseed like flavour and aroma, and is perfect for use in both sweet and savoury dishes. Our fennel seeds work particular well with fish, in particular oily fish such as mackerel and salmon. They also compliment meats such as pork and lamb and stirring them into recipes for meatballs, burgers and fishcakes can really add a delightful finish to your cooking. Add our fennel seed to bread, cakes and biscuits, or sprinkle over fruit salads to give a delicious aniseed flavour. Alternatively you can crush and add to tomato based sauces and sprinkle over potato salads, coleslaw and Chinese style rice.
